Did you know we’re planting 40,000 trees in CONAPAC communities?

We're gearing up for #GivingTuesday the beginning of December! We've got a donor match challenge already, and in this issue we want to tell you about how the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is helping our communities in a big way.

Did you know that, in partnership with the great folks at The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, we work to provide native and other tropical fruit trees to farmers in our rural Peruvian Amazon partner communities, as part of our goal of increasing food sovereignty? Read More Here.

By the end of this year we will have planted 46,302 trees in 28 communities with 207 beneficiaries. FTPF finds corporate and individual donors to support their tree planting initiative and, in turn, donates trees to the CONAPAC communities, as well as others across the world. Each December a small team of FTPF volunteers comes to Iquitos, bringing a professional arborist who works with our on-the-ground agronomist and tree grower. Detroit Zoo staff join the group, and for the first time, we are offering a volunteer opportunity to our CONAPAC supporters to join in the planting. It's happening very soon, so if you are interested contact us.

About Giving Tuesday

Millions of people have come together to support and champion the causes they believe in. This global day of giving harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.

Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on December 3 and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.

And here is a sneak peek at our end-of-year fundraiser. Further details next week!

Want to donate?

We have several long-time donors and partner organizations who work tirelessly for CONAPAC; with you, we can do so much for our communities.

Our work is only possible with the many other donations, big and small, that we receive throughout the year.
