Home Water Filtration in 19 Partner Communities
For some communities, CONAPAC utilizes an option other than a centralized community water filtration tower. This is typically because a water source is far from the community center, or because homes are too far away from the community center, and carrying a full bucket of water is overly cumbersome. For these reasons, we are thankful to be partnered with Global Access 2030, which has designed a two-bucket filter system that can be used directly in the home. This filter, called Safi, is easy to clean, maintain, and use and is highly effective, making it a perfect solution for our smaller communities who need access to clean water. We may also install the Safi filters in communities that would benefit from a centralized community filter tower, but we have yet to be able to provide one.
To date, we have installed these filters in 19 communities. Early each year, Global Access 2030 comes to us to provide water workshops and home visits. We are looking forward to our “Water Week” in 2024!
